‘Dean of Arizona women artists’ is focus of Brown Bag lecture

WILLCOX – Effie Anderson Smith’s paintings will be the topic of speaker Steven Carlson’s Brown Bag Arizona History Talk Thursday, March 14, at the Palace of Art and Theater.

Smith (1869-1955) was a painter who lived her adult life in Cochise County, known as the “dean of Arizona women artists,” an acclaimed impressionist who brought focus to the landscapes of Southeastern Arizona.
