EDISON, N.J. — Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan announced Thursday that 31-year-old Faton Boqolli of Edison has been charged with sexual assault and criminal sexual contact following an investigation into allegations involving a female victim.
The investigation, led by Detective Clint Hetzell of the Edison Police Department, began after the victim reported that Boqolli had sexually assaulted her after they met through Facebook. Boqolli was arrested and is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center while awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
This is the second time Boqolli has faced similar charges. In August 2024, detectives from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Edison Police Department investigated allegations from another female victim who also stated that Boqolli had sexually assaulted her after meeting through Facebook. He was arrested on August 6, 2024, and charged with sexual assault, criminal restraint, and criminal sexual contact in connection with that case.
Authorities have urged anyone with information about Boqolli or related incidents to contact Detective Daniela Castro of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit at 732-745-3652 or Detective Hetzell of the Edison Police Department at 732-248-7400.
