It’s shaping up to be a banner year for Ella Langley. The rising star and most-nominated artist at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards has officially been named ACM New Female Artist of the Year—and she found out in a moment she’ll never forget.
While performing at Rock The Country in Knoxville, Tennessee, Langley was surprised onstage with the big news through a special video from none other than Miranda Lambert. In the heartfelt clip, Lambert praised Langley as a friend, co-writer, and “soul sister in country music,” before delivering the surprise announcement:
“We are gonna celebrate so big in Dallas, Texas! They ain’t even ready!” Lambert cheered.
Langley’s win follows the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, hungover, which was named one of the best albums of 2024 by both The New York Times and Rolling Stone. Featuring a full tracklist of songs co-written by Langley herself, the album produced the hit single “you look like you love me” with Riley Green—a breakout moment that earned her a Billboard Hot 100 debut, a No. 1 on Country radio, and historic standing as one of just two female artists to top the Billboard Country Airplay Chart in 2024.

On top of her New Female Artist win, Langley heads into the 60th ACM Awards with eight nominations—the most of any artist this year—including nods for Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and more.
Fans can celebrate alongside Langley during the 60th ACM Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, streaming live from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, May 8. The show will be available globally on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, bringing country music’s biggest party to fans around the world.
