X, the social network owned by American entrepreneur Elon Musk, has hit an all-time high in online users, marking a significant milestone for the platform.
“All-time high usage of this platform,” Musk announced on his X page.
The surge in traffic coincided with the US general elections on November 5, where Musk reported a record-breaking number of active users. This spike in activity is attributed to heightened political engagement during the elections.
Since July 2024, Musk has publicly supported Donald Trump. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, had announced his intention to appoint Musk as the head of a government efficiency commission if he were to win the election. This commission would be tasked with auditing and reforming the federal government to eliminate fraud and inefficiency. Musk has shown enthusiasm for this potential role.
The US general elections, held on November 5, saw Americans voting for the president, one-third of the Senate, the entire House of Representatives, as well as governors in 11 states and two territories. Republican nominee Donald Trump emerged victorious in the presidential race.
