Facebook and Instagram are currently down worldwide.
Thousands of users have been logged out of their Facebook accounts this afternoon. And upon attempting to re-login, Facebook is insisting that it does not recognise the user’s password – even after changing it.
Hundreds of users have flooded Down Detector with reports of outages on Facebook. And users of Instagram – which is owned by Facebook parent company Meta – have also reported issues regarding search functions and other functions in the app.
Neither Facebook or Instagram have released statements as of yet to outline what the problem is with the sites.
