Meta’s (META) Facebook, Instagram, and Threads experienced widespread outages Tuesday, as thousands of users reported problems accessing the social media platforms. Users also reported issues with Google’s YouTube.

Meta Communications Director Andy Stone confirmed in a post on X Tuesday morning that users were experiencing problems trying to use the company’s products. Over 600,000 users combined had reported issues accessing Meta products including Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads, according to the website DownDetector.

Meta’s status page listed some products as experiencing “major disruptions” or “recovering from disruptions” as of about noon Tuesday, shortly before the disruptions were resolved.

“Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services,” Stone said in a followup post. “We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

In a press call about “Super Tuesday” primary elections, a senior official from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency reportedly said the agency was aware of the outage, but did not know of any connection to the elections or “specific malicious cyber activity,” according to NBC News.

Alphabet’s (GOOGL) Google confirmed users were experiencing issues with YouTube as well, and said it was working to resolve the issue.

Shares of Meta were down 1.7% at $489.98 as of about 2:15 p.m. ET Tuesday, while Alphabet shares edged 0.6% lower.
