In the world of Reddit, subreddits or discussion groups are quite handy when it comes to day-to-day life. People with similar interests share content, ask questions, and engage in discussions.
One such group, ‘Cleaning Tips,’ with 987k members, serves as a popular forum for sharing advice on tackling stubborn stains and household messes. But for one woman, a bizarre cleaning mystery led to a shocking revelation. A Reddit user, with the username mioraa, posted how everything, including her cat, at her place was turning green.

She wrote, “Everything in my house is turning green… at first it was just my cat, and then it became my bedsheets, my feet (which then stained my shoes and socks), my couch, my phone charger, and now my wall”. To back up, she even shared pictures of green-stained objects from her house. At first, the woman thought that it could be mold or even detergent that was responsible for the stains, however, they were not the reason.
As she posted about her bizarre situation, the people on the forum came to suggest various reasons. One suggested that it could be due to the copper in her cleaning products, while another suggested it could be the hard water. The woman later updated that she got her water checked, and while her water was a little hard, it couldn’t have been the reason for the stains the technician had ensured her.

Someone in the group jokingly asked the woman if she had recently bought “new jeans from Old Navy,” adding, “lol, they stain everything.” That offhand comment became the clue that unraveled the truth for the woman. In her post, she said, “Someone also commented asking if my husband was cheating on me with someone who wears old navy jeans. i won’t lie, when that comment came up, i nervously laughed.” She further, continued, “coincidentally, i’ve already had suspicions on a possible affair from the multiple last minute overtime shifts and just overall changes in behavior. also, my husband has cheated before so i’ve always been a bit anxious”.
To make sure, the user checked through her husband’s phone and lo and behold, she found some inappropriate texts between her husband and some woman. She wrote, “looked thru my husbands phone and there it was. some s*** instagram DMs from a woman who wears jeans (cannot confirm if they’re old navy).”
In another update, she also informed that when she confronted her husband, he didn’t deny it. She has now moved to her parents place with her cats.
