“I don’t need PR”: MS Dhoni reveals why he stays away from social media

MS Dhoni doesn’t like to be active on social media and stays away from X and Instagram. He has been urged to get involved in PR activities by his managers but the veteran doesn’t want to do his publicity.

The 43-year-old has accounts on social networking sites but he rarely posts about his activities unlike some of the leading players across the globe. In the latest episode of ‘Tread Talks’ of Eurogrip Tyres, the most successful Indian captain revealed why he is not active on social media sites.

“I am not a fan of social media. I have accounts on social networking sites but these platforms were launched after my debut. My managers want to build PR but I have told them that I don’t need PR if I am playing good cricket,” he said.

He will represent Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 43-year-old was retained for INR 4 crore. He led CSK to five IPL titles. In 258 games for CSK, he scored 5,118 runs at an average of 39.06 and a strike rate of 139.45, with 23 fifties.
