Instagram Stories Not Working On Friday

Instagram users reported a glitch on the Meta application on Friday. Several said the stories feature was not working. Meanwhile, Downdetector – a platform that reports online outages – showed more than 2000 people in the United States had reported issues with the photo and video sharing social networking service. The company is yet to issue a statement about the same.
“It’s not just you, Instagram is currently down for some users,” one person said on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.
“How is instagram always down??” another one asked.
“Instagram is down for some people including myself. Lots of peoples posts aren’t going though not just bridgerton cast or accounts related to bridgerton so don’t worry,” a third one tweeted jokingly.
Downdetector data in the US showed about 56% of the reports were about the application, 28%about posting and 16% faced issues with the server connection.
Users said that the app was down for more than an hour. In some cases, people were able to open the application, send and receive messages and even view photos on the feed. However, there was some problem with viewing and uploading stories.
The current Instagram outage did not affect other Meta platforms – Facebook and Threads.
