Jayaram Law is the trailblazing intellectual property law firm protecting cultural creativity, and renowned for working with the world’s most innovative creators. Founded by Vivek Jayaram, the law firm is redefining what it means to blend art and corporate culture. This year, they continued their annual tradition of celebrating creativity with an exclusive sneaker collaboration, while simultaneously unveiling the second edition of Sneaker Law, the sneakerhead bible for comprehensive insight into the $90 billion sneaker industry.
Since 2009, Jayaram Law has provided legal counsel to some of the most creative people and brands on the planet. Known as “the culture lawyers,” they specialize in bridging the gap between business and culture, empowering creators to make impactful art while redefining traditional legal models surrounding intellectual property.
Jayaram has recently teamed up with acclaimed French artist Stan Birch to design 35 custom pairs of Adidas Handball Speziales. Each pair, hand-numbered and tailored exclusively for Jayaram employees, showcases Birch’s signature flair, with fuzzy Three Stripes, vibrant laces, and the Jayaram logo detailed in gold leaf on the heel. These wearable masterpieces embody Jayaram’s commitment to individuality and artistry.
“At Jayaram, creativity isn’t just something we support—it’s something we live and breathe,” said founder Vivek Jayaram. “This tradition celebrates not only the artistry of our team but also the global creatives who push boundaries and challenge conventions.” The sneakers were unveiled during a virtual firm-wide celebration on December 17, fostering community and inspiration across Jayaram’s team.
As the excitement around the sneaker collaboration continues, Jayaram is also gearing up to launch the second edition of Sneaker Law, a definitive guide to the business and culture of sneakers. Co-authored by Kenneth Anand, Jayaram’s Director of Client Relations, and Jared Goldstein, Sneaker Law V2 delves even deeper into the history, design, and legal intricacies of the global sneaker market.
Highlighting profiles of 46 influential sneaker designers, from Virgil Abloh to Giuseppe Zanotti, Sneaker Law V2 offers in-depth coverage of major sneaker lawsuits, counterfeiting scandals, and the evolution of the sneaker industry. “Sneaker Law has an entire chapter dedicated to hundreds of the best and biggest collaborations in the sneaker game, broken down by category: athlete, fashion brand, entertainment, and others miscellaneous collabs,” noted co-author Anand.
Jayaram’s initiatives showcase how the firm integrates legal expertise with cultural authenticity, this while wearing jeans and sneakers. From brokering major collaborations like Travis Scott x McDonald’s to supporting custom designers and hosting arts programming, Jayaram embodies the future of creative law and its organic connection to culture and fashion.
Kenneth Anand shared his perspective on working with creatives in this way, “Our firm has the privilege of representing some of the greatest customizers and designers in the world. It’s only fitting that we celebrate this creativity within our own culture. Whether through custom sneakers or groundbreaking publications like Sneaker Law, we aim to inspire and empower.”
By intertwining art, law, and culture, Jayaram continues to lead by example, proving that the corporate world doesn’t have to sacrifice individuality for professionalism. The firm’s bold initiatives not only highlight the importance of creativity in business but also reinforce its role as a critical partner in moving culture and industries forward.
