Kelsea Ballerini is celebrating a career feat that only the most elite musicians can achieve: selling out Madison Square Garden arena in New York City!
The four-time Grammy nominee and new coach on “The Voice” is headlining a one-night-only concert at the iconic venue Oct. 29 in honor of the release of her fifth album, “Patterns.”
Ballerini shared the exciting news with her fans in a Sept. 12 Instagram post, the same day as her 31st birthday.
“woke up on this lovely birthday to see quite possibly the most unreal gift i can imagine…you guys sold out madison square garden immediately. pretty speechless at this one,” Ballerini wrote.
Kelsea Ballerini did it first at Food City Center in Knoxville
Selling out Madison Square Garden is truly amazing and all, but let’s also remember Ballerini did it first in Knoxville!

The Knoxville native headlined a special one-night-only concert at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center last year that sold out almost immediately after tickets went on sale. Making it even more special, “The Homecoming Show” was her first headlining arena concert, establishing a new era of her touring career.
“I’ve gotten to play a lot of shows in the last decade, in a lot of places that I love. But if there is one show that I’m glad you came to, it’s this one,” Ballerini told the hometown crowd. “This is my first big girl show.”
Ballerini grew up in Knoxville and attended Central High School before leaving to pursue her music career in Nashville. But she always keeps Knoxville close.
She has said her time at Central helped her become the artist she is today. And she’s returned to Central and Knoxville several times in recent years, including a visit with actor boyfriend Chase Stokes last year, attending the Class of 2011’s 11-year reunion, filming a music video here in 2021 and crashing Bearden’s prom in 2018.
“Patterns” comes out Oct. 25 and you can catch Ballerini as a coach on “The Voice” in spring 2025.
