{KXLG – Watertown, SD} Lake Area Technical College’s Computer Information Systems Department is celebrating a significant milestone, having received the “Academy 25 Years of Service Recognition Award” from Cisco Networking Academy. The award acknowledges Lake Area Tech’s quarter-century of commitment to providing high-quality networking education and its positive impact on students and the wider community.
The award certificate, issued on March 11, 2025, and signed by Lynn Bloomer, General Manager of Cisco Networking Academy, recognizes Lake Area Technical College for “25 years of active participation and dedicated service” within the Cisco Networking Academy program.
In a Facebook post announcing the award, the Lake Area Tech Computer Information Systems Department stated, “This recognizes our unwavering dedication to student success and the positive impact we’ve made in the communities we serve. Thank you to our students, faculty, and advisor supporters for being part of this journey!”
The Cisco Networking Academy program is a globally recognized education initiative that provides students with foundational IT skills for career opportunities in networking and related fields. For 25 years, Lake Area Technical College has been an active participant in this program, offering students access to industry-standard curriculum, hands-on learning experiences, and valuable certifications.
