LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Saturday many people gathered at the Leland Cultural Arts Center for the free Spring Art Market.

Over 30 local artisans displayed their art for the community to shop and apprecaite.

There was jewelry, woodwork, bird houses, glassware, paintings, ceramics and more.

Glass artist and owner of ‘Appleby Arts’ Debbie Appleby says she enjoys being at the market for people to explore and learn about her product.

“I think as artists and vendors we are really educators in that people don’t understand what we do so it is also my job to educate people about the process. Then, it helps them to really understand and appreciate,” Appleby said.

Appleby adds that she teaches classes at Brunswick Community College and the Leland Cultural Arts Center.

The Town of Leland hosts three art markets each year. The next one will be the Summer Market on July 19th.
