This July, Port Moody will turn into a creative hub for the PoMo Summer Art Market.
PCI Developments has paired with Public Disco to bring the free event to the city; there will be a wide variety of games and activities for everyone to enjoy, as well as food and drink options. Activities include games, interactive art experiences—like mural painting with Port Moody artist Angie Quintanilla Coates—and a pop-up bar selling both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Director of development for PCI Developments Brad Howard says in a release that he is excited to bring this event to the Port Moody community.
“This event will transform a warehouse into a vibrant event space featuring an art market, live DJs, kids activities, and more,” he says. “We are particularly pleased to be working with Public Disco and bringing them to Moody Centre in putting on this fun, free event for the Port Moody community, and in particular showcasing its outstanding artists and craft beverage makers.”
Nickolas Collinet, executive director of Public Disco, says in a statement that he is also looking forward to the collaboration for this event.
“Public Disco is thrilled to expand our events to the creative and passionate Port Moody community,” he says. “The PoMo Summer Art Market will create a warm and inclusive atmosphere where attendees can support a diverse range of local artists and businesses.”
The event is also going to be accessible, with a flat concrete ground and accessible washrooms and seating—so that everyone is able to join in the fun.
