MAX JACKSON: CMAA’s Female Artist of the Year

Newcastle’s own Max Jackson has solidified her place in Australian country music, walking away with two Golden Guitars at the prestigious awards night in Tamworth on Saturday. The Coonamble-born singer-songwriter was named Female Artist of the Year and claimed Single of the Year for her hit Little More Country.

Last year, Max took out the New Talent of the Year accolade and was asked to co-host the 2025 Country Music Awards of Australia. “I’ve just been so inspired by the women of country music since I was a little girl.” Max said, holding her second trophy of the evening, which was presented by country music powerhouse Fanny Lumsden.

The night was also a celebration of country music icons, including Keith Urban, who was inducted into the prestigious Roll of Renown. Keith reminisced about his early days at the Tamworth Country Music Festival as a busker and then Star Maker winner, a sentiment that underscores the significance of the event in shaping both seasoned legends and emerging talents like Max Jackson.

These wins are another stepping stone for Max, her success at the 2025 Golden Guitars highlights her growing influence, not just in Newcastle but on the national stage, as she joins the ranks of celebrated Australian artists.

With her career gaining momentum and accolades stacking up, Max Jackson is undoubtedly one of Newcastle’s brightest emerging stars. You can check out the award-winning song Little More Country and her latest single Hold My Horses here.
