Miami Dolphins star safety Jevon Holland has indicated that he has become frustrated with the Dolphins organization. While discussing his future with Andre Dunand and Cameron Wolfe on the popular ‘Breakin’ House Rules’ podcast, Holland highlighted how his lack of social media presence on the Dolphins accounts may hint that his future is not with the Miami team.
Holland is a native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, who played college football with the Oregon Ducks. The Dolphins drafted him in the second round, No. 36 overall, in the 2021 NFL Draft. Since his arrival in the league, Holland has been a dominant member of the Dolphins’ secondary through his strong tackling, elite athleticism, and ability to create turnovers. He is currently a free agent.
What Did Jevon Holland Say About His Future?
Holland made clear that he was not sure whether his future was with the Dolphins at this time.
“Transparently, like seeing the Dolphins post things, like the thanks or the Valentine’s Day stuff or any edits and things like that, you could see like the guys that may not be here next year or maybe somewhere else are just not in it. So, I’m like following them on Instagram, right, and I’m like, not in none of this anymore. And, I’m like, okay, they’ve kind of moved on,” Holland stated.
Holland’s 2025 Outlook
Holland is one of the best young safeties in the National Football League. Throughout his four year NFL career, Holland has 301 total tackles, 219 solo tackles, five sacks, five forced fumbles, and five interceptions. He has been a key member of a Dolphins defensive unit that has been vastly improved in recent years and a team that has made the playoffs two out of the last three seasons.
At this time, it is unclear whether Holland will return to the Dolphins next year. He is expected to have many potential options in the free agency period, something that may result in Holland leaving the Miami franchise.
According to the popular sports contract and financial company Spotrac, Holland’s market value and next contract are expected to be around a four-year, $60 million deal. In their analysis, the 25-year-old Holland was compared to other safeties like Arizona Cardinals Budda Baker and Los Angeles Chargers Derwin James Jr., among others.
While it remains to be seen where Holland lands in free agency, it is evident that he is not too optimistic about his future with the Dolphins if the team’s social media is any indication.
