Morgan Wallen’s ‘I’m the Problem’ Crowned 2025’s Best-Selling U.S. Album

Morgan Wallen has done it again!

With “I’m the Problem,” his chart-blazing fourth studio album, the country star has secured his place at the top of 2025’s music mountain. The album, which dropped May 16, debuted with an astronomical 493,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

And Wallen didn’t stop there.

Just three weeks in, “I’m the Problem” has held tight to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The latest tally? Another 246,000 equivalent units, according to Luminate. That’s a 14% dip from the previous week, but still five times the sales of the No. 2 album. In fact, Forbes reports that Wallen’s latest album was so dominant, it outsold the next five biggest U.S. albums combined! If that’s not power, I don’t know what is!

That includes albums by Seventeen, SZA, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and Wallen’s own 2023 “One Thing at a Time,” which currently sits comfortably at No. 6.

The Songs, The Stats, The ‘Morgan Wallen’ Spark

Several fans believe TikTok might have a lot to do with songs going insanely viral in a short amount of time. Tracks like “TN,” “20 Cigarettes,” and the viral duet “What I Want” with Tate McRae have racked up millions of streams and inspired fan-made content galore. “What I Want” isn’t just a smash, it made history, becoming Wallen’s first-ever female duet. It also became McRae’s first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. That track alone helped catapult the album into pop-crossover territory.

And Wallen’s grip on the Hot 100 doesn’t stop there. As of this week, he has three songs in the Top Ten:

  • “What I Want” at No. 2
  • “Just in Case” at No. 3
  • “I’m the Problem” at No. 5

That’s not a hot streak, it’s a wildfire. That being said, out of his 37 songs, all but one have ranked among this week’s top 100 songs.

From Country Rebel to Cultural Powerhouse

Wallen’s journey from “The Voice” contestant to country’s most bankable star hasn’t been without bumps, but 2025 marks a new era. His success is no longer confined to country playlists; he’s one of the most streamed artists in the U.S. across all genres.

And despite controversies in the past, Wallen’s audience has only grown.

As far as what’s next for Wallen? Rumors of a deluxe edition of “I’m the Problem” are already swirling. Could it be that there are more unreleased tracks and maybe even another high-profile feature or two? There’s also buzz around a potential stadium tour extension, with dates possibly stretching into 2026.

But for now, he’s just enjoying the ride. Let’s be honest, so are we.

Whether you’re blasting “Superman” from a tailgate or streaming “Lies Lies Lies” during your morning commute, one thing’s clear, Wallen isn’t the problem. Rather, he’s the soundtrack to 2025.

And he’s not going anywhere.
