A new initiative to bring ‘positive energy and creativity’ to Slough town centre will launch next week.
The Slough BID and The Slough Hub will showcase the ongoing efforts to transform the town centre into a ‘lively hub of joy, culture, and community engagement’ on Tuesday (September 17).
The event at 7 Mackenzie Street will feature the unveiling of a stunning new mural and the launch of the Slough Town Centre Street Market.
The market will showcase local merchandise, food, and craftsmanship accompanied by live busking sessions, street performances, and interactive creative workshops.
The Slough BID manager Clarissa Parker said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the potential of the High Street. We want to bring people together and make the high street a place where the community can gather, celebrate, and feel proud of their town.”
According to organisers, the initiative is about creating ‘positive vibes and showcasing local talent’.
This event is part of a larger effort by The Slough Hub and Slough BID to bring culture, and community spirit to the town.
The Slough Hub founder Vineet Vijh added: “The Slough Hub is committed to supporting local creativity and culture, and this launch event is the perfect way to energise the community. We hope this initiative will inspire people to engage with the arts, fitness, and each other, creating a sense of unity and joy on Slough’s High Street.”
The event will start at 11.30am with an hour of live performances by street performers followed by a new mural unveiling at 12.30pm.
At 1pm, the new street markets will officially launch with a ribbon cutting, tea and snacks.
Between 2pm and 5pm, the street market will be open to the public and the town centre will be filled with busking performances by local musicians and artists.
Busking sessions are every Tuesday and Saturday, with the Slough Town Centre Street Market running every Tuesday.
