New team members at art gallery

Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange has appointed two digital experts to help transform its digital work.

Xavia Smith has joined as digital marketing producer, focusing on social media, managing the gallery’s accounts and creating engaging content to promote the gallery’s varied activities to a growing online audience.

“I aim to elevate the gallery’s online presence,” said Smith, “not only via social media, but by working on the website’s search engine rankings and creating paid campaigns to drive awareness and leads for our digital Hires Services.”

Alongside Smith, Adam Goodwin has joined as digital producer, creating new digital content, including short films, podcasts, and interpretation materials for the gallery’s exhibitions and events.

“I’m keen to develop new ways of interacting with our audiences through digital technology,” he said. “Accessibility and inclusion within the arts are really important and I’m keen to think about how we can use technology to break down barriers and open opportunities for the communities we serve.”

With help from the Foyle Foundation, the gallery has been able to fund these two year-long appointments with the aim of making them permanent, continuing the transformation of not only the gallery’s digital offering, but also helping other businesses to do the same.

Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange is an educational arts charity, an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, and a Cornwall Council Strategic Arts client.
