
MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) – The Menomonie Police Department was alerted to a social media post that threatened a potential school shooting at the Menomonie High School early Saturday
The person who made the post was subsequently interviewed and taken into custody.
During the course of the investigation, the female who posted the message did not have any plan or intentions on following through with what was posted.
Officers on scene did not locate any weapons and it was reported that the subject did not have any access to firearms.
The suspect faces charges of Terrorist Threats and Unlawful Use of Telephone, pending review by the Dunn County District Attorney’s Office. The female subject and her parents were both cooperative with law enforcement.
Based on the results of the investigation, the police department says there’s no reason to believe there’s any danger to the Menomonie School District.
