Orr Street Farm and Art Market gets new name, location in April. What to know

A downtown Columbia fixture on Sundays is getting a new home and a new name.

For roughly 14 years the Orr Street Farm and Art Market met 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wabash Bus Terminal in the North Village Arts District. Starting April 6, it will move to 1020 E. Walnut St. to be known as The Market at Serendipity.

“The transformation of this market is a celebration of community spirit,” said Elizabeth Jordheim, owner of Serendipity Salon and Gallery, in the announcement. “We’re honored to be entrusted with this beloved institution and are excited to offer a space where farmers, artisans, food vendors, wellness professionals and musicians can come together to create a unique marketplace experience.”

Market hours are not changing after the move and name change.

The market features farmers and other producers, artisans and craftspeople, prepared food vendors, health and wellness products and service and food trucks.

The new version of the market will have both indoor and outdoor vendors. Guests could also enjoy live music, and space to sit and enjoy any treats they purchased. Service animals, but not pets, are welcome.

Vendors can visit Serendipity Salon and Gallery or its website to make inquiries or to reserve a space.
