EAST WINDSOR, NJ – RK Pharma Inc., a provider of affordable generic pharmaceutical products, will be occupying the entire 406,669 square foot building in the Innovation Park complex, Mayor Janice Mironov said.
RK Pharma, a privately held pharmaceutical company, develops, manufactures and distributes pharmaceuticals, with a focus on complex injectables.
The US-based company has approximately 2,000 employees worldwide with facilities in Pearl River, New York; East Brunswick, New Jersey and India.
Around 300 to 400 employees will work at the East Windsor facility, officials said.
“East Windsor is extremely excited to welcome pharmaceutical company RK Pharma, which will locate in the modern Innovation Park complex which is now fully leased. We are excited that the prominently located landmark Innovation Park facility will be fully occupied by high-tech innovative pharma and life science companies,” Mironov said. “Successful company RK Pharma will join a growing number of research and development pharma companies which have chosen to make East Windsor home.”
RK Pharma will be joining global life science company, Getinge, which occupies the other 167,500-square-foot building at the location.
Getinge, a global medical device technology company founded in Sweden in 1904, researches and develops equipment and systems for healthcare and life sciences industries worldwide.
“RK Pharma was attracted to East Windsor, home to many other well-established pharma and high-tech businesses, due to its superior prime location in Central Jersey, offering a great labor force and transportation networks,” Dr. Ravishanket Kovi, Founder and Executive Chairman of RK Pharma said.
“The Innovation Park complex offers an excellent facility for our growing pharma business, and is an attractive landmark building with modern architectural features and expansive outdoor amenities and green space.”
Other prominent companies operating from East Windsor include Aurobindo Pharma, Shiseido America, QTS, ForDoz Pharma and Empower Pharma.
RK Pharma is ready to take immediate occupation and start the process of retrofitting the building into a state-of-the-art, high-tech research, manufacturing and distribution facility, officials said.
The retrofit will include the construction of separate manufacturing suites to promote high-quality sterile processes.
Innovation Park is located at the intersection of Princeton Hightstown Road, County Route 571 and One Mile Road.
Innovation Park is now fully leased. The two-building 574,169 square foot state-of-the-art business park is located on an 86.97-acre parcel formerly occupied by McGraw Hill.
