The City Hall in Newcastle was rammed from top to bottom, full of people ready to party on a Saturday night, and they weren’t disappointed.

Anastacia’s voice, so soulful with so much power, was a joy to hear, bringing such passion to ‘Paid My Dues’ and ‘Sick and Tired’.

A delighted Sue in the crowd with her friends squealed in delight. It may have been a packed theatre, but Anastacia gave it the feel of a night out with friends.

Anastacia`s more emotive side shone through on the glorious Power Ballad ‘Heavy On My Heart’ and the deeply touching song of loss, ‘You`ll Never Be Alone’.  Pure, gilt-edged class.

With a couple of swift costume changes which left her excellent band and two backing singers holding court with a medley of ‘Vogue’ and ‘Everybody (Backstreet`s Back)’ and later on with Free`s ‘All Right Now’ before Anastacia returned to do a roaring take on the Guns n’ Roses classic ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’.

Perhaps even more surprising was her reworking of German Punk`s Die Toten Hosen`s ‘Tage Wie Diese’ reimagined as ‘Best Days’, a wonderfully spirited, uplifting song, perfect for a hot summer day.

It was no wonder the whole hall was up and dancing again.

Leaving the big hits ‘Left Outside Alone’, ‘Not That Kind’, beefed up by the hulking riff from Led Zeppelin`s ‘Kashmir’ and ‘I`m Outta Love’ until last kept the party going until last orders were called.
