Plumas Bank and monca continue collaboration to feature local artist Brandon Hernandez

Plumas Bank in Chico is continuing its collaboration with the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) to showcase local artists.

Chico printmaker Brandon Hernandez’s work will be on display for the next three months for the community and bank customers to enjoy. Hernandez is a second-generation Mexican American, using his roots to inspire his art.

The release is part of Plumas Bank’s rotating art showcase with monca, which changes every four months to give local artists equal opportunities to have their art on display for clients of Plumas Bank and the community of Chico.

Since beginning the showcase last year, Vice President of Plumas Bank Ian Macmillan says the community has shown an appreciation for the art.

“The reception has been overwhelmingly positive. We have a few hundred people come in here every month into the lobby to take a look at the art, came to do banking, maybe just to see the artwork we have on display. It’s not just limited to our clients, any member of the public is more than welcome to come down and take a look,” Macmillan said.

The bank also features art in its conference room and outside of its building, supporters of local art in the community.

To see the art first-hand, visit the Plumas Bank location on 900 Mangrove Avenue in Chico any time from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
