Pro-Trump pundit Scott Jennings’ future at CNN has some on social media losing their minds

Scott Jennings is about as pro-Donald Trump as it gets, and all you have to do is tune in to CNN on a weeknight for about five minutes to figure it out.

There seems to be no subject related to Trump or Republicans that Jennings can’t find the good in and defend as he debates with other panelists on “NewsNight with Abby Phillip.” Which is why some were surprised to find out that as it prepares to restructure and reportedly lay off as many as 200 people, news of the network’s plans for Jennings created a bit of a social media stir.

Not only is he staying, CNN, long accused of being anti-Trump by the president and his followers, is reportedly looking at giving raise a nice raise.

Former CNN reporter Oliver Darcy first reported that Jennings could be receiving a “nice pay bump” as he and the network are reportedly in the final stages of negotiating a new contract.

Jennings is an ex-staffer of former President George W. Bush, and apparently a key part of the network’s strategy for its coverage moving forward.

Social media, as it is with most things concerning politics, was divided when it came to the news.

“Today I am a hater,” one person wrote on X. “Scott Jennings does not deserve a raise (CNN).’

“While CNN is a dying network, firing people and cutting salaries, Scott Jennings is being given, supposedly, a big raise,” another wrote on X. “They are smarter than I thought. He’s the reason so many clips are everywhere on social media. I STILL want him to run for Mitch McConnell’s seat in 2026.”

There were plenty more responses like that on both sides of the divide, and some even more … well, let’s just say creative. It will be interesting to see if the deal does get done and CNN locks down Jennings and pays him.
