Real patriots looking for the best weapon to carry to the next MAGA rally are in luck — Parler, the right-leaning social media platform, featured a sponsored post promoting a free Trump Knife emblazoned with the slogan “Keep America Great”! And 250 lucky patriots with perfectly good impulse control won’t even have to pay for it!
To be clear, the fine print contained in the email from Parler promoting the knife stated: “The following is a sponsored message. Please note that views expressed in this message do not necessarily reflect those of Parler and do not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by Parler.” But it most definitely came from Parler!
Now, many people use knives like the one pictured above for various reasons — opening boxes, cuttings things that aren’t people — but upon reading the copy on the site linked in the email, this item is distinctly described as a “Trump 2024 Rally Knife.” Does that mean it’s for rallies?
And the slogan, “Keep America Great” — wouldn’t that imply an endorsement for keeping the president we currently have because America is great and we want to keep it that way?
Does that mean this knife is for murdering Trump supporters?
Maybe they just couldn’t fit “Make America Great Again” on the handle and were unwilling to change the font size.
The site copy explains: “The Trump Knife is not just a symbol of your support for America & President [Donald Trump], but offers great function and utility. It is an absolute favorite amongst patriotic marines, first responders, outdoor enthusiasts & beyond!”
It further cites the knife as a tool for members of law enforcement, for their “safety and protection” — from Trump’s own supporters, I would have to assume.
The brand story here is a confusing one, and that makes me think there has to be a conspiracy underneath all of this…
