Notably, this is the first-ever collection from a contemporary art giant. The collection comprises 1,200 unique digital masterpieces on the Bitcoin blockchain chronicles. Exclusively published on LiveArt, Human represents an infection point for art on the Bitcoin blockchain. Human is set to launch on 8th May 2024. The launch will partner with top-tier Ordinals communities, including the Spark, Ordinals Council, Pizza Ninjas Ink, and others.
Yue Minjun is a celebrated contemporary Chinese painter, printmaker, and sculptor. His art commands over $150 million in auction sales and over $3 million in digital sales. He first entered the NFT space in August 2023 when he launched the ‘Boundless’ collection. Minjun’s work mainly centers around the imagery of a laughing man modeled by himself and depicted in various situations.
Through the Human collection, Yue Minjun takes art lovers from the Big Bang to Bitcoin as he captures key moments that have shaped the current digital space. The art highlights human history, especially instances mentioned by historians and philosophers like Arnold Toynbees’s seminal work, “A Study Of History.” In this collection, Minjun returns to this motif and includes other images like a beautifully rendered skull. When asked about his work, Yue Minjun explained that he likes what people add with NFTs and web3 and would want to participate in this great movement.
