A new version of the ballet classic The Nutcracker, co-choreographed and performed by Chinese and Russian artists, recently made its debut at the Liaoning Grand Theatre. The 200-year-old masterpiece has been revitalized with innovative stage design, costumes, lighting, choreography and live accompaniment by the Liaoning Symphony Orchestra.

World-renowned ballet dancer and “People’s Artist of Russia” Eldar Aliev choreographed this production. According to Aliev, this version of the classic was tailored for the Liaoning Ballet, incorporating Chinese cultural elements while maintaining its Russian style, including newly choreographed movements designed for Chinese dancers.
