In a deal estimated to be worth over $300 million, the rock band KISS has sold its catalog, brand name and IP to Swedish company Pophouse Entertainment Group, the Associated Press reported.
The band members — Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer — collaborated with Pophouse to reveal digital avatars of themselves following their final farewell tour performance at Madison Square Garden this past December.
“I don’t like the word acquisition,” Simmons told the outlet, adding that the band would never sell its catalog to a company they didn’t appreciate, the report said.
While Simmons goes on to assure fans that the band has no plans to tour in the future, Pophouse said a biopic, documentary and new KISS experience are forthcoming, the report said.
