2025 Premio Lo Nuestro just wrapped up! On Feb. 20, the popular award show gave 44 special recognitions to emerging and established artists throughout the evening. This year’s top nominees were Mexican-American Becky G and Mexican crooner Carín León, with 10 nominations each. But who ended up winning the most trophies? None other than Shakira.
Though the Colombian queen wasn’t present (she’s currently on her global tour), she won six categories. Not only did she take home the trophy for Album of the Year and Pop-Urban Album of the Year for the successful LP Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, she also won Crossover Collaboration of the Year and Pop-Urban Collaboration of the Year for her joint track with Cardi B “Puntería,” Mexican Music Collaboration of the Year for “(Entre Paréntesis)” with Grupo Frontera, and Pop Female Artist of the Year.
The night’s runner-up was León, who won five awards, including Mexican Music Male Artist of the Year, Mexican Music Song of the Year for “Primera Cita,” and Mexican Music Album of the Year for Boca Chueca, Vol.1. He also won The Perfect Mix of the Year and Tropical Song of the Year for “Una Vida Pasada” alongside Camilo. Talking about Camilo, he won four categories, including Tropical Album of the Year for Cuatro and Tropical Collaboration of the Year for “Plis” with his wife Evaluna Montaner.
Another Colombian multi-winner who wasn’t present was Karol G, who won four trophies. Her wins include Premio Lo Nuestro Artist of the Year, Urban Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” and Urban Album of the Year for Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season).
Other notable winners include emerging talent Latin Mafia (won Best Pop Latin Fusion Song for “Siento Que Merezco Más”), speculated lovebirds Peso Pluma and Kenia Os’ “Tommy & Pamela” (won Pop-Urban Song of the Year), and Majo Aguilar (won for Mexican Music Female Artist of the Year). Lomiiel’s “Hay Lupita” also won for Best Dembow Song.
