Grindr Right Now has been launched by the LGBTQ+ social networking and hookup app that takes cues from social media platforms to help connect users on a real-time basis. The new feature works by being activated by the user, which will offer them access to social media-like feed for one hour where they can post their plans, connect with others on an immediate basis or even schedule a romantic rendezvous. The feature is meant to reduce the need for users to cycle through the grid of other users in their area when they want to chat for an immediate connection.
Chief Product Officer AJ Balance commented on Grindr Right Now saying, “We built this intention-based feature based on feedback from our community so they can connect with like-minded people without wasting time on mismatched expectations. The response to our initial March launch was so strong we accelerated the global rollout ahead of schedule because it’s clear people want this… well, right now.”
