Social media network devoted to Broadway fans will launch in April

Stage Door Network, which aggregates creative resources to the theater industry, has announced a new social media platform, Stage Door Pass. Set to officially launch in April, the platform is designed to allow theater fans to enhance their engagement with Broadway shows.

Stage Door Pass will equip users with the ability to track their own show-going log, marking attendance by collecting a digital passport stamp at each performance. When users track their attendance at a show, they will receive a free, customized video, which users can utilize in sharing their theater experience. Additionally, users will be able to interact directly with performers by sending them a digital standing ovation or round of applause.

The network will not just be limited to Broadway; users can track their attendance at any production, be it on the Main Stem or in an educational or community theater setting. Stage Door Pass will then allow users to rate all these shows and write reviews, which can be used to curate various “top ten” lists to share on the platform.

Stage Door Pass will have a booth at BroadwayCon 2025, slated to take place Feb. 7 through 9  in New York City. Individuals who visit the Stage Door Pass booth at the annual event will get a first glimpse at the platform’s features and functionality, as well as the opportunity to win prizes and apply to become a founding member of the platform ahead of the April launch.

“We are so thrilled to be sharing this platform to celebrate all the many shows and artists that bring immense joy to me and millions of others,” said Mike Wheeler, CEO of Stage Door Pass and Stage Door Network, in a statement.

“Stage Door Pass is more than just a platform; it’s a community designed to celebrate live theater and to revolutionize the interaction with artists in an interactive way,” added Jeff Whiting, president of Stage Door Pass and Stage Door Network. “We’re inviting theater lovers to join us in shaping this exciting new space.”

Stage Door Pass is presented through a partnership with Stage Write Software, which designed and built the platform. Stage Write is the platform that has been used by over 200 Broadway productions to track all the moving parts of a show, such as script changes and staging charts.
