SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Monday morning, the parents of students at a Sioux Falls middle school received a message debunking a recent threat circulating on social media.
According to the Sioux Falls School District, a security threat was circulating on social media Monday morning that mentions a school with the same name as Memorial Middle School.
The district and law enforcement investigated the threat and determined that its origin was not in South Dakota or Sioux Falls.
This has been confirmed with the police in the state where the post originated.
While the Sioux Falls School District did not specify what was in the post, they did advise parents to speak to their children about the dangers of social media threats.
Buses ran normal routes and classes began at their scheduled time.
