Barely a week goes by now without Spotify publishing some stats from a different part of its global business. Today it’s Poland’s turn, with an emphasis on women artists. “Since 2019, we’ve seen nearly 25% more Polish female artists uploading music on Spotify,” revealed the company in a blog post. “Additionally, the annual number of streams for songs by female artists in Poland has surpassed 2 billion, marking a nearly 600% increase since 2019.”
Spotify also noted that internationally, streams for Polish women artists have grown by 340% since 2019, with rap the genre that has grown most over that time. “In 2019, we saw one female artist on our yearly Top 100 list for Poland: Daria Zawiałow. In 2024, we can already reveal that this year’s list will include seven women,” added Spotify.
