The award-winning documentary short blends cinematic craft with a powerful message on stewardship, story, and the future of wine
May 1, 2025, Newberg, Ore. — The Art of Pairing, a documentary short film produced by the Stoller Wine Group, is a second annual Wine Marketing Award winner in the video / brand marketing category. This prestigious accolade recognizing excellence in wine branding, digital storytelling, and industry innovation. Celebrated for its narrative depth and emotional resonance, the film stood out among submissions from leading wineries, agencies, and marketing professionals across the globe.

Unlike traditional promotional content, The Art of Pairing offers an introspective and visually arresting journey into the world of winegrowing. Set against the backdrop of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the film follows the lead-up to the 2023 harvest through the eyes of Vice President of Vineyard Operations, Jason Tosch, whose unique philosophy bridges the rhythms of jazz with the cadence of sustainable farming.
Through cinematic storytelling, the documentary short elevates Stoller’s dedication to sustainability resiliency and the human connection to land against the backdrop of an ever-changing climate.
“In the wake of Bill Stoller’s passing, this win is a bittersweet reminder of our belief that the best marketing tells the truth—honestly, creatively, and with heart,” said Gary Mortensen, president of Stoller Wine Group. “The Art of Pairing reflects the core of Bill’s values: being stewards of the land, storytellers, and a company committed to a future that’s both sustainable and inspiring.”

The film has received widespread recognition, including Official Selections at the Seattle Film Festival, Environmental Film & Screenplay Festival, and the Oregon Documentary Film Festival. It has also earned Best Direction from the Environmental Film & Screenplay Festival, winning Best Cinematography and was finalist Best Original Music at the Oregon Documentary Film Festival.
