Studio 44 Gallery showcases women artists in new exhibition

Successful events which have taken place at the Boyd Street facility included the Open Studios Ayrshire weekend, followed by ‘Under the Surface’ group exhibition. Both were well received.

Two weeks ago the gallery was host to a week-long pop-up exhibition organised by potter Rona Slevin. The collective of six artists and makers put on an exciting display of work, causing almost fever pitch at the opening event.

This weekend is another pop-up exhibition by Neil G Smith, an artist and tutor from East Kilbride, who has filled the gallery with an impressive collection of paintings and prints.

The next exhibition, ‘PRISM: A Trio of Women Artists’  features Ayrshire artists Lynne Johnstone, Dorothy Fisher and Sandra Ratcliffe, who are all quite different in painting styles, and will brighten up the dark November days.

The opening preview is on Sunday, November 10, 2-4pm. Head along for drinks and nibbles, and get first dibs on these exciting paintings.
