SWANSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person involved in a social media threat that forced the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office to investigate at Swansboro Middle School last Saturday.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office reports receiving details concerning a potential threat aimed at Swansboro Middle School. The threat was found on a social media platform. Detectives and deputies launched an investigation into the matter.
Officials said after a thorough investigation that included parents and students, the person who made the threat was identified. It was determined the threat was not credible.
“Ensuring the safety and security of our schools is a top priority for the Sheriff’s Office. All reports of potential threats are taken seriously and addressed accordingly,” Onslow County Sheriff Chris Thomas said.
