Tems plays to sell-out crowd at SXSW London for Billboard

Last night, Billboard Presents THE STAGE came to SXSW London for an unforgettable night as Tems, along with LULU. and Amantle Brown, brought a vibrant party to Troxy’s historic dance floor. Sold-out within 24 hours, the special ticketed event was one of the inaugural SXSW London festival’s biggest draws and delivered an evening of genre-blending sound, cultural celebration, and next-generation artistry.

Headliner Tems, the two-time Grammy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated Nigerian powerhouse, delivered a mesmerizing performance that spanned her globally acclaimed hits, fan favorites, and powerful new material. Her deeply soulful voice, commanding stage presence, and emotionally resonant storytelling reminded everyone in the room why she is one of today’s most defining artists.

Opening the night was rising South East London singer-songwriter LULU., whose genre-blurring mix of pop and R&B included a cover of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” and original tracks that highlighted her raw talent and distinctive sound. Prior to LULU., Botswana’s Amantle Brown graced the stage for a passionate performance that celebrated her home nation.

“The energy in the room was electric,” said Mike Van, CEO of Billboard. “Having Tems, LULU. and Amantle Brown together on one stage in London, as part of Billboard’s expansion to SXSW London, felt like a true celebration of the global future of music. This is exactly what THE STAGE was built for – bringing the most impactful artists directly to their fans.”

Tickets for the show sold out within hours, signaling massive demand for the unique Billboard x SXSW live experience. As part of SXSW London’s broader celebration of creativity and innovation from June 2-7, the event drew music fans, tastemakers, and international media alike.
