The business of culture: Marina Bay Sands uses art to make better events

Marina Bay Sands and Sands Expo & Convention Centre is a leading venue in Asia-Pacific for the business community. But more than just its event spaces – the art and culture focus of the development helps it to stand out in the competitive global arena.

In Marina Bay Sands, the world of hospitality, events, art and culture converge to create a venue experience unlike any other. Following your event, whether you’re drawn to the elegance of contemporary art within ArtScience Museum, the richness of cultural performances in the Sands Theatre, or the excitement of world-class attractions like the iconic Sands SkyPark or waterfront light show, there’s always something to inspire and excite delegates at Marina Bay Sands – a convergence point for Singapore’s cultural landscape.

Marina Bay Sands offers a vibrant array of artistic and cultural experiences. Marvel at the stunning Spectra light and water show along the waterfront or discover the captivating Rain Oculus, an iconic whirlpool spectacle.

ArtScience Museum is home to an inspiring collection of modern art installations that blend creativity with innovation. From large-scale sculptures to digital masterpieces, each work is thoughtfully curated to transform our spaces into unique artistic experiences. Throughout the public spaces of the development, visitors can explore striking art installations throughout the property. The Marina Bay Sands Art Path features 11 stunning large-scale artworks by eight internationally acclaimed artists in a fusion of artistic mastery and visionary design.

Art and culture continues within Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, where homegrown music takes centre stage via a partnership between the development and Singapore’s National Arts Council to celebrate and promote local music via the “I Play SG Music” initiative, which features a curated playlist of 75 homegrown artists which will be the go-to soundtrack for events at the venue. This number will continually increase as more homegrown Singaporean artists are added.

Marina Bay Sands’ vice-president of sales and MICE Ong Wee Min said: “The launch of I Play SG Music at Sands Expo & Convention Centre signals our further commitment to supporting the Singapore arts scene. This will enrich the meetings experience, layering on depth by introducing homegrown artists and music to visitors and allowing them to develop a deeper appreciation for the arts.”
