The Vintage New Orleans has partnered with local artist Terrance Osborne to launch a coffee line of sustainably sourced varieties, in conjunction with Osborne being the first artist featured in the restaurant’s “Signature Louisiana Art Series” campaign. Osborne’s artwork will be on sale at The Vintage locations across New Orleans and Baton Rouge, in addition to at the artist’s gallery, online, and at Fleurty Girl locations across New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Mississippi.
The Vintage is known for its coffee, beignets, wines, and restaurant bites at its flagship Magazine St. location in New Orleans and on Laurel Street in Baton Rouge. The Vintage micro-roasts its own select, carefully curated green coffee from regions around the world in coordination with programs supporting local farmers and cooperatives promoting fair trade and living wages.
“We are so excited to bring this amazing partnership with Terrance to fruition,” said Bernard Stolberg, CEO of OnePack Hospitality Group, parent company of The Vintage. “Our micro-roasted coffee has already made a huge impression since its release in late September. Louisiana products are among the best in the world. Food and culture here are synonymous, and it simply makes sense to celebrate and honor that relationship in our own unique way.”
The new blend – “The Spirit of New Orleans” – features a branded coffee retail bag designed by Osborne himself and resembles the bold yet rich smooth spirit of New Orleans.
“New Orleans is a place of beauty and struggle. It’s important that we consider how we are interacting with each other and with the world around us,” said Osborne. “Sustainability and responsibility in our culture – whether that be art, music or food is essential. It’s about mindfulness. I am extremely proud to play a part in an initiative like this that is taking the time, doing the work and honoring New Orleans in the process.”
Lauren Haydel, Fleurty Girl Founder and CEO, said her boutique, which specializes in celebrating the joy and uniqueness of New Orleans culture, is “the perfect complement to Terrance’s beautiful artistry and The Vintage’s thoughtfully curated coffee. We are thrilled to debut this series at all Fleurty Girl locations,” said Haydel.
The Vintage’s coffee line includes two flagship varieties: The Vintage Gold Blend (a breakfast mainstay) and The Vintage Espresso. Single origin specialty coffees include La Orquidea from Colombia, a lighter-roasted coffee with a citrus acidity and notes of chocolate, and the darker Asproguate single origin from Guatemala with creamy notes of brown sugar, chocolate, floral, and honey.
A third single origin from Ethiopia, Sidamo, is the lightest mixed variety with notes of berry, green tea, florals and chocolate. Other releases include Santa Luicia Reserve from Honduras, Ethipoia Yirgacheffe, and an upcoming Nicaragua release from a small family farm with local ties to the New Orleans community. The Vintage participates in a first-of-its-kind Living Income Pricing initiative that ensures a sustainable livelihood for farmers.
