Operation Sindoor: Malayalam actress Amina Nijam shared a post of a Pakistan woman on her Instagram story that detailed ‘Indian brutality’. This post turned out to be fake.
Operation Sindoor: Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh along with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Wednesday briefed the media on the overnight aerial strikes.
As Indians hail the Narendra Modi government for sending a strong message to ‘terror-sponsoring’ Pakistan and the perpetrators of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, there are some who do not seem to be convinced with the action. Several social media users have been flagging such people to the local police or government representatives, slamming them for being “anti-Indian” at a time when even the Opposition leaders are “standing like a pillar” with the government.
Among them is Malayalam actress Amina Nijam, known for the movie ‘Turbo’. She shared a post of a Pakistan woman on her Instagram story that detailed “Indian brutality”. This despite clear proof by the government that the strikes only targeted terror camps.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh along with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Wednesday briefed the media on the precision overnight aerial strikes that destroyed nine terror camps used by groups like the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad to carry out attacks in India.
The post that Nijam shared soon turned out to be fake, prompting her to take down the Instagram story. By this time, her comment box was filled with criticism by netizens.
The actress later posted her opinion on Instagram which only made things worse. “Yes, I’m ashamed…People who think they have sought revenge for the Pahalgam attack have been manipulated…,” she wrote.
Social media users have been tagging the prime minister Union home minister Amit Shah to flag her post, with one of the complaints receiving over six lakh reshares.

Another account that was flagged was of one Suzayn Mansuri, who is said to be a resident Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The woman reportedly shared a post by a US Muslim scholar who compared PM Modi to his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu. He called both governments “fascist regimes”. The account, ‘its_suzayn’, reshared this story and wrote, “A cowardly move (Operation Sindoor) based on nothing but propaganda!”
Social media users have tagged Ahmedabad police and Gujarat home minister Harsh Sanghvi, and have asked them to look into the matter urgently. “It’s important every Indian learns to respect our Army. I also have her contact details, in case you need them,” an X user wrote.
Another account that was flagged was ‘ghalibkakhayal’. The account user shared a story on Operation Sindoor by journalist Faye D’Souza, and wrote, “We pay taxes for this s***?” Sharing screenshots of the story, an X user wrote, “These are the people who are more dangerous than the enemy standing outside the border.”
Another account facing social media flak is of user ‘riddhiissharmaaaa’, who reportedly wrote, “If your nationalism requires the death of innocents, you don’t need nationalism. You need humanity.”
