
By now, most St. Louis diners and culinarians know that Tony’s (105 Carondelet Plaza) in Clayton served its last meal on Saturday night, marking the end of an era, or several eras.
But the story isn’t over just yet. Beginning today, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. for the next week or so, the restaurant is selling many of its signature items, “a lot of what made Tony’s Tony’s,” says general manager Gerard Whatton.
“Much of it has already been spoken for,” Whatton says, referring to tables, chairs, silver service items, and the larger art pieces. However, plenty of smaller wares are for sale—including aluminum pots and pans, stockpots, strainers, ladles, service dishes (some copper-clad), some glassware, artwork, and the remaining wine and liquor (offered at less than retail price).
“I know there are people who just want something from Tony’s,” Whatton says. “If you want a remembrance, now’s your chance. Come on by.
