Users report Meta’s Facebook, Messenger and Instagram are down

You’re not alone if you were recently kicked out of Meta’s Facebook and Instagram social media platforms.

Hundreds of thousands of users are reporting that they were kicked off the platforms Tuesday morning.

According to downdetector.com, more than 500,000 reports about Facebook being down have been made since reports began spiking around 10:40 a.m. EST.

Over 50,000 users reported outages for Instagram and more than 10,000 were made for Messenger.

Meta’s newest social networking service, Threads, is also experiencing an outage.

Over 600 reports indicating problems on that platform were made, according to downdetector.com.

DownDetector is a website that monitors online outages.

User are reporting that they are getting “failure to load” error pages.

The company’s apps also appear to be affected.

Sinclair reached out to Meta to get answers regarding this outage, but have not heard back.

A spokesperson for Meta acknowledged the reported outages on X, posting that the company is “aware” and they are “working” on it.

“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” posted Andy Stone, a Meta spokesperson.

“Facebook” and “Mark Zuckerberg” are trending on X, a social media platform previously known as Twitter.

X users are sounding off about Tuesday’s outage.

“Anyone else freak out and think they was being hacked,” asked an X user.

In addition to #Facebookdown and #Instagramdown posts, users on X are posting reaction videos poking fun at the outage.

Some Meta users began reporting they were able to access Facebook on desktop and mobile around 12 p.m. EST. , but Meta has not officially announced that the outage has been restored.
