UW-Stout student hosts local art and business showcase benefitting a homeless shelter

MENOMONIE— It is no secret that homelessness has been on the rise in Chippewa Valley.

Walk through downtown Eau Claire and you’ll see a packed daytime warming center relegated to an old pawn shop at the edge of town and a line of people waiting outside The Sojourner House hours before it opens, hoping to get a spot at the over-crowded overnight shelter.
