BANGOR — Maine’s Indigenous artists got a chance to show off their skills on Saturday, when the Downtown Bangor Partnership collaborated with Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness to bring the second Wabanaki Art Market to life.
The market was located downtown and featured artists from multiple tribes, showcasing crafts from hand-beaded jewelry to wood art. Organizers say it’s a great way to wrap up Native American Heritage Month.
“Every year around the holiday season we hope to welcome artists into our space and then hope to offer that art to the community,” said Lisa Sockabasin, CEO of Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness.
