WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – If you’re looking for last-minute Mother’s Day gifts, the Wausau Conservatory of Music has a blooming event, and they need your help to make a difference in student’s lives.
It is their annual Mother’s Day Rose Sale. The funds from the flowers will allow students to enroll in the conservatory, who may not be able to afford it. Tuition assistance is provided to 1 in 3 students. Classes at the conservatory are offered for preschool to adults. The conservatory and many volunteers will be selling freedom roses in several different varieties to help. They range from 1 dozen to 2 dozen roses, with a vase or without. They have been selling them for nearly 35 years. The conservatory is able to raise over $9,000 every year for tuition assistance, and scholarships because of the sale.
“Our community has always been wonderful responding to our Rose sale, and we’re always hoping to raise more of course, the more money we raise, the more scholarships we can fund. So, we always also order a few extras,” said Ann Dahlke, Volunteer for Rose Drive.
You can pick up your preordered roses or walk in to buy them starting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. You have until 6:30p.m. to pick up on Friday. You can get them Saturday from 9.a.m to noon. If you want to buy roses, the conservatory will be accepting cash, credit cards, debit cards, and checks.
Wausau Conservatory of Music is located at 404 Seymour St, Wausau.
