Werenoi, France’s Top Rapper, Dies At 31; Know Everything About Biggest-Selling Music Artist

The French rapper Werenoi, known as the number one album seller in 2023 and 2024, has passed away. He breathed his last on Saturday at the age of 31. The demise of the singer, who dominated music charts over the past two years, has shocked everyone in France and around the world. The news was confirmed by his record label, Believe, and his producer, Babs, on social media.

“It’s with immense sadness that we’ve learned of Werenoi’s passing. All our thoughts are with his family, loved ones, his team and everyone who knew him, his record company Believe posted on Instagram.

His longtime producer, Babs, also paid an emotional tribute on X, which read, “Rest in peace my brother, I love you.”

As quoted by the AP report, Werenoi died early Saturday in a Paris hospital. The cause of his death has not been revealed yet.

Singer Pascal Obispo, who collaborated with Werenoi during a 2023 concert in Paris, expressed grief over the demise. While speaking with Le Parisien, he said, “He made a difference for the quality of his songs, his melodies and his punchlines.”

The rapper Werenoi gained recognition with his first song, Guadalajara in February 2021, which he released under the name We Renoi. The song went viral, prompting him to release more singles during the year, including Senor de los Gallos featuring Lacrim. In 2022, Werenoi made its debut EP, Telegram, a 12-track project. It marked the rapper’s first official release. In 2023, he came up with the album Carré. His second album Pyramide, was released in 2024, where he collaborated with Damso, SDM, Aya Nakamura, Hamza, Maes, and SCH. His most recently released album is Diamant Noir. Werenoi has captivated audiences with his unique style and versatile voice.
