West Orange Arts Center celebrates women artists with final weeks of “HERstory” exhibition, workshops

The Sistars’ Connection “HERstory: Past, Present & Moving Forward” exhibition at the West Orange Arts Center is entering its final weeks during March.

“We’ve had an incredibly active and exciting start to the year,” said Patricia Mitrano, West Orange Arts Council Chair. “It’s wonderful to see so many artist-led workshops happening alongside this exhibition. It’s a rare opportunity for the community to learn from such accomplished, working artists.”

In honor of Women’s History Month, National Craft Month and National Quilting Month, the Arts Center has held a series of engaging workshops and events.

There will be a Beaded Bracelets Workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. on March 29, followed by the conclusion of the exhibition from 2 to 4 p.m. on March 30 with a special send-off celebration for artist and curator Maria Luis Estrela.

Visitors are invited to explore the gallery, shop the boutique, and participate in the remaining workshops before “HERstory” closes.

The West Orange Arts Council, an all-volunteer organization, is dedicated to promoting the arts and providing opportunities for artists and the community to connect.

The exhibition and programming are made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the New Jersey Arts and Culture Renewal Fund.
