PALMER, Tenn. (WTVC) – Authorities in Tennessee are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash.
Twenty-five-year-old Haley Layman faces charges in connection to the death of Bobby Green.
Bobby Green was hit by a car Monday night while riding a bicycle.
Bobby Green’s daughter says the driver posted to social media following the accident.
“I’ll pray for you. I don’t hate you. I just wish you would have made a different decision that night to not drink and drive,” Clara Green said.
That was Clara Green’s message to Layman, who was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office less than 24 hours after Bobby Green died.

“She hit him so hard that it hurt, tore up his right leg and ripped his pinky off on his right hand,” Clara Green described.
After being hit while he rode his bike, Clara Green said her father was shown kindness by a neighbor in his final moments.
“She went and got a flashlight and found him, and she went and got a blanket for him because he said he was cold and sat there and prayed with him,” Clara Green said.
Bobby Green died within a few minutes of being in the ambulance, his daughter said.
Layman didn’t call 911.
“All I can say is I just wish she would have done the right thing,” Clara Green said.
A police report says Layman admitted to drinking when the crash happened and that she drove her car to a nearby county to get repairs in an effort to cover up her crime.
“The Tennessee Highway Patrol officer said that he had a piece of the headlight and stuff, and then someone else said that the windshield wiper was ripped off the car, too,” Clara Green said.
Clara Green said Layman shared a post from the sheriff’s office about the crash on Facebook in the hours before troopers arrested her.
One of Layman’s alleged posts said, “Rest in peace Bobby Dan. You’re going to be missed so much.”
Clara Green says her father struggled with homelessness and drugs throughout the years.
“I know he wasn’t always the best when he was on that stuff, but when he wasn’t, he was good. He was good and he didn’t deserve that,” Clara Green said.
Still, she loved him unconditionally. In memory of her father, Clara Green wants those who struggle with addiction to know help is out there.
“If you are on it, you can get help, so you don’t ever have to be in the situation where you’re homeless and you’re riding a bike to the store because you don’t have a vehicle,” Clara Green said.
The Green family has set up a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses.
