Women’s History Month in Sun Prairie: Georgia O’Keeffe most exhibited woman artist

In 1887, when Sun Prairie was barely 40 years old, famed artist Georgia O’Keeffe was born. Now, nearly 40 years after her death in 1986, a study has shown that the Sun Prairie native is the most exhibited female artist in America.

According to the report by Singulart Magazine, where 46,000 pieces of art by over 10,000 artists were analyzed, O’Keeffe came out on top. Currently, nearly 150 original paintings plus hundreds of sketches by O’Keeffe can be seen on display in Minneapolis, Washington D.C., New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Fe and Milwaukee, just to name a few.
